Sandra Monteiro received her PhD in Psychology from McMaster University in 2013 and applies her knowledge and expertise of learning and measurement in many contexts and roles. She is a Senior Scientist in the Program for Education Research and Development at McMaster University. Her primary research focus is on the cognitive processes of clinical reasoning and error. Additionally, she applies her expertise in memory and learning to evaluate various education theories and strategies in higher education. Sandra is also an Assistant Professor in the department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at McMaster University and helps develop capacity for statistical analysis and research design within the Faculty of Health Sciences. Finally, Sandra is Director of Research and Analysis at Touchstone Institute, contributing to the development of high quality competency assessments and education programs.
